The day before we left Vrindavan, we went for a bath in the holy waters of the Yamuna river. We rented a boat which took us across to the other side, where the water is clear and lovely. Afterwards, we went to the temple of Radha Madan-Mohan.

our boat--no motor, the boatman used a long pole to push the boat along |
|
A proper bath in a holy river includes a full dunking 3 times...well, Nitai got dunked, not out of his own accord, 3 times! Maha said it looked like an invisible hand was pushing him down. He came up laughing his head off each time--so did the rest of us! |
|
It took a lot of convincing to get him out of the water... |

happy hogs of Vrindavan--they're the local sanitation department |
Madan-Mohan temple
the Deities of Srila Sanatana Goswami
|
The temple is situated atop a hill, so either side you go up, there's either steps or a hill to walk up...you can see Nitai found his own way up by scaling the grass... |

This is where the Deities are (no pictures allowed) |

This is the bhajana kutir of Srila Sanatana Goswami |

The way up from the other side. Down these steps and around the corner is the samadhi mandir of Srila Sanatana Goswami. |

We think this is the grantha samhadi where actual books of the Goswamis are...this is what it looks like in our Vrindavan guidebook, but the pujari @ the samadhi said it was somewhere different (he didn't speak English though, so it could have been a misunderstanding) |
|
this is what it says on the building, can anyone read this? |
