Radha-Damodara & Srila Prabhupada's Room

We spent a lot of time shopping at the bazaars...not to our liking, but oh well.  At least, there are many places to visit around the bazaars that we were thankfully able to incorporate into our trips.  One such historical place is the temple of Radha-Damodara, where Srila Prabhupada stayed for some time before his venture to America.

Sri Sri Radha-Damodara ki, jaya!  These deities were carved by Srila Rupa Goswami, then given and cared for by Srila Jiva Goswami.
This Govardhana Sila was given to Srila Sanantana Goswami by Krsna Himself, disguised as a cow heard boy.  Sanatana Goswami, despite his old age, would still struggle to do daily parikrama of Govardhana Hill.  Krsna said that by circumambulating this sila 4 times, it would be equal to a whole parikram of Govardhana.  It has His footprint, flute imprint and a cow hoof print.  It is usually covered with a cloth.  The pujaris whip off the cloth for a few seconds at their leisure...sorry for the blurry picture.

Nitai was given a small clay pot of maha.  He gulped it down before we could blink twice.  Afterwards, Maha said that that prep was made from yak butter and she's never seen a devotee eat it without getting "explosive diarrhea"...by the mercy of Sri-Radha-Damodara, Nitai was just fine.

Srila Prabhupada's bed and footprints.
His desk.
His kitchen.

This is the window where SP would look out at Srila Rupa Goswami's samadhi while honoring prasadam.  The samadhi and courtyard look very different now...it's all enclosed when it used to be open.
